T-Mobile Ringtones
T-Mobile Ringtones
Recent research shows T-Mobile as having an 11% share of the mobile carrier market in the United States. While having a relatively small percentage of the market, T-Mobile has proven to be a significant competitor in the mobile entertainment space, providing its subscribers with the same content options, such as TMobile games, TMobile music and TMobile ringtones, as other wireless carriers.
T-Mobile’s key partnerships to offer entertainment and T-Mobile ringtones include deals with Warner Music and Sony Music.
The Sony deal was struck back in 2004 and was originally based on HiFi Ringers, which they defined as ringtones featuring actual clips of music. These ringtones are more commonly referred to today as MP3 ringtones.
Sony has a big name roster including Beyonce and Jessica Simpson with wide appeal to a segment of T-Mobile’s market, so the ability to offer these tones made sense. Remembering that Sony Music also owns Epic Records and Columbia Records, there list of artists is actually pretty extensive, giving TMobile subscribers real breadth from Britney Spears to Dolly Parton to Aerosmith.
